NBA Star Anthony Edwards “Hates” Ex-Girlfriend For Not Aborting Their Child

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is facing backlash after leaked messages suggest he pressured his ex-girlfriend, Ayesha Howard, to abort their child.

In early 2024, Howard informed Edwards of her pregnancy, texting, “I’m pregnant… wanted to tell you in person but you gave me no other choice. We probably should have kept it cordial but we’re here now.”

Edwards allegedly responded, “Ok lol. Get da abortion lol.”

Despite his reaction, Howard refused to end her child’s life, telling him she could either keep him “updated through the process” or “disappear until the baby’s here.”

Edwards reportedly dismissed her, replying, “Omg [laughing emojis]bye.”

Later, when Ayesha asked if he hated her, Anthony allegedly responded, “[Yes]. Because you bringing a child in the world that’s gone be without a father.”

After the messages surfaced, Howard revealed on Instagram that she had given birth to a baby girl on October 14, 2024.

This situation is a reminder that abortion often enables men to avoid the responsibilities of fatherhood. Unfortunately, Edwards is not the first high-profile figure to pressure a woman into killing their baby for the sake of his career.

But fatherhood and success are not mutually exclusive. Just last week, actor Kieran Culkin won his first Oscar and dedicated it to his “favorite people,” his wife and children. Meanwhile, former Texans star JJ Watt has embraced fatherhood, calling it a transformative experience. “It’s a love that I never knew I could have, and it just makes you see the world in a different light,” Watt told PEOPLE.

True strength is not in avoiding responsibility but in embracing it. The most admirable men are not those who run from fatherhood but those who rise to the challenge—proving that success, legacy, and love are built on more than personal career goals.

Join us in prayer for Anthony Edwards, that he will come to repentance and salvation. We also pray for Ayesha Howard and her precious baby, that the Lord will bless them and comfort them.
