Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) slammed Ketanji Brown Jackson during Senate discussion over her confirmation to the Supreme Court of the United States.
“I submitted a question to Judge Jackson…” Cruz explained, “Do you hold a position on whether individuals possess natural rights?… Judge Jackson answered, quote… ‘I do not hold a position on whether individuals possess natural rights.’”
The senator from Texas went on, “She doesn’t hold a position that ‘all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights… Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.’ Judge Jackson says she has no position on whether you have a Right to Life.”
Cruz’s statements on the Senate floor brought attention to the radically dangerous fact that the newly confirmed Supreme Court Justice has no concept of rights. Devoid of any belief in the Right to Life, there is no telling what kind of radically anti-Life opinions Jackson will hold as a Supreme Court Justice.
As one of the most influential judges on the planet, appointed to a lifetime position, Jackson’s extreme opinions are certain to inflict terrible harm to human rights, most especially the Right to Life.
Jackson not only denies that individuals hold natural rights, she also has no concept of when Life begins. When asked when Life begins during her Senate confirmation hearings, Jackson stuttered through her response before finally answering, “I don’t know.”
With no concept of the natural Right to Life and no idea when Life begins, every citizen under Jackson’s influence is in great danger. Above all others, the vulnerable and voiceless preborn are severely threatened by Jackson.
The Senate confirmed Jackson to the bench Thursday by a 53-47 vote. However, she will not take on the role until predecessor Justice Stephen Breyer retires this summer. By that time, the high-profile abortion case from Mississippi (Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization) will have already been decided. Experts speculate this case could overturn Roe v. Wade entirely, allowing the issue of abortion to be decided by state legislatures.
Pro-Lifers must fight harder than ever for the lives of these precious innocents threatened by the predations of abortion.
