Abortion business Planned Parenthood officially endorses Joe Biden

Planned Parenthood’s endorsement of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign is little more than a formality.  The fact that the political arm of the nation’s biggest abortion business wants Biden, an increasingly radical anti-Life candidate with a long record of supporting Planned Parenthood, to be president is not a surprise.  Nonetheless, Planned Parenthood’s official endorsement announcement should serve as a reminder of what is at stake in the 2020 election.  In the presidential race this year, Americans will choose between one of the strongest Pro-Life presidents in recent history and yet another anti-Life Democrat in the pocket of the abortion industry.

Last week, Planned Parenthood’s acting president, Alexis McGill Johnson released a statement about the endorsement.  In Orwellian language only possible from the head of an organization that profits from the death of more than 345,000 preborn babies each year and claims to provide “health care,” McGill Johnson said the upcoming election was a matter of “our country’s very survival.”  That a business that ends the lives of more preborn babies than any other abortion business in the United States can frame an endorsement in terms of “survival” is a testament to the fundamental illogic of the anti-Life worldview.

Biden, who served as vice president under anti-Life Barack Obama, is an obvious choice for Planned Parenthood.  Obama did the bidding of his cronies at Planned Parenthood and infamously proclaimed, “Thank you, Planned Parenthood.  God bless you.”  On Obama’s watch, Planned Parenthood dodged accountability at the federal level for Medicaid fraud, high-profile scandals, and state and federal investigations.  Having served under one of the most anti-Life presidents in United States history makes Biden an obvious choice for Planned Parenthood’s endorsement.

As with other anti-Life elites, Planned Parenthood waited until all other anti-Life candidates withdrew from the race for the Democrat nomination before endorsing Biden.  This could have to do with Biden’s hesitance to renounce commonsense positions to which Planned Parenthood objected in recent years.  Although Planned Parenthood noted that in his lengthy tenure in the United States Senate Biden had “a 100% voting record from Planned Parenthood Action Fund,” he has not been in the good graces of the abortion business at all times.

Until quite recently, Biden continued to support the Pro-Life Hyde Amendment, which prevents direct taxpayer-funding of elective abortion through Medicaid.  Only last year when launching his most recent bid for the presidency Biden finally conformed to anti-Life extremism and renounced his support for the Hyde Amendment.  In the time since, Biden has worked overtime to pander to the most extreme anti-Life base, toeing the anti-Life line of the new Democrat Party that will not tolerate even a hint of Pro-Life conviction.

Through orchestrated events and strategic appearances, Biden has made clear that he will do what Planned Parenthood wants if the abortion organization helps to get him into office.  Planned Parenthood has made clear that they will ensure Biden’s fealty.  In the statement announcing endorsement, Planned Parenthood’s current head wrote that Biden is “100% for sexual and reproductive health,” which to Planned Parenthood means taxpayer-funded elective abortion for any reason without limits.  Ominously, the statement added: “we are going to hold him to that [Planned Parenthood’s abortion agenda].”  There is no doubt that a vote for Biden is a vote for Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood tried to claim in the endorsement that Biden has acted “against the systemic racism in this country that is costing Black people their lives.”  Yet, by supporting and working with Planned Parenthood Biden has cooperated with the industry that ends more black lives than any other in our nation.  At a time when more black babies are killed through abortion in New York City than are born alive, aiding the abortion industry means supporting systemic injustice that results in a greater loss of Life than any other.

The Trump Administration has made notable Pro-Life advances in many areas of government and has promised to continue.  As we are reminded from Planned Parenthood’s endorsement, Biden will have the funding of the most powerful anti-Life forces in our nation in his bid to assume the presidency.  Pro-Life Americans must accomplish the grassroots work necessary to combat the anti-Life elites.  The future of our nation and the lives of the preborn depend on us.
