On or before Thursday, January 2, Judge Sandee Marion, Chief Justice of the 4th Court of Appeals, will rule whether to issue a temporary injunction for 10-month-old Tinslee Lewis, whom Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth is trying to deny treatment using the anti-Life 10-Day Rule.
If granted, the temporary injunction would prevent Cook Children’s from pulling the plug on Tinslee before a full trial could be held that would challenge the constitutionality of the 10-Day Rule. If the injunction is denied, the hospital will be able to legally remove Tinslee’s treatment, killing her against her family’s wishes.
Texas Right to Life’s patient advocacy team has been working alongside Tinslee and her mother, Trinity, since the family called our hotline in November. Texas Right to Life will issue a full statement after the ruling that will include a quote from Trinity. Since Tinslee’s case has caught global media attention, the emotional strain on the Lewis family has been very difficult. The family asks that all media requests go through Texas Right to Life so they can cherish the holidays with Tinslee.
Texas Right to Life prays Judge Marion will protect Baby Tinslee’s right to due process and her Right to Life.
