What we do

Education

Texas Right to Life works to change hearts and minds because victory won’t come from laws or courts alone—it must be rooted in culture.

“You are the light of the world… Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:14, 16

That’s why we teach, equip, and inspire the next generation of Pro-Life leaders.

Here’s how you can get involved:

Undergraduate Scholarship

Earn $1,000 per semester through the Dr. Joseph Graham Fellowship. Receive expert training and one-on-one mentorship to become a Pro-Life leader on your campus.

Health & Law Scholarship

Graduate students pursuing a law or health science degree can earn $1,000 per year by starting or leading a campus Pro-Life club.

Convention for Life

Experts in politics, media, law, and medicine will teach you how to debunk pro-choice lies with truth and love.

Legislation

By passing new laws, we can save lives today and create lasting change nationwide.

The Lord commands us to rescue the weak, the lowly, and the needy (Psalm 82).

Even though it’s illegal to kill preborn babies in our state, abortions are still happening in plain sight. About 30,000 lives are ended per year between illegal pills and out-of-state procedures. That’s why we fight to rescue them.

Here’s a look at what we do:

  • Research and write bills to protect preborn children from abortion
  • Meet with officials in the Capitol to support good policies or stop bad ones
  • Secure state funding for pregnancy centers and adoption agencies
(And then keep an eye on bureaucrats to make sure they don’t misuse the funding)
  • Keep you informed with online articles and in-person speeches across the state

Advocacy

At Texas Right to Life, we believe every human life—whether in the womb or a hospital bed—is a precious gift from God, worthy of protection and dignity.

“Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.” Isaiah 1:17

That’s why we step in when lives are at risk—helping patients in hospitals and fighting for preborn children in court.

Here’s a look at what we do:

  • Help patients and families secure more time if a hospital threatens to take away treatment against their will
  • Find other hospitals to care for a patient if doctors want to end his/her life
  • File court briefs to influence rulings
  • Defend Pro-Life laws in court and go after local governments funding illegal and out-of-state abortion costs

Our Work in Action

When hospitals try to take away life-sustaining treatment against a patient’s will, we help the family ask for more time and look for other places to care for the patient. When all the power is in the hospital’s hands, it helps to have a strong and passionate voice on the family’s side. Learn more.

San Antonio City Council dedicated $500,000 of taxpayer money to cover flights, hotels, and meals for women seeking abortions in other states. We filed a lawsuit to stop them. Learn more.

Abortion advocates—including Planned Parenthood—sued Texas Right to Life 14 times, attempting to take down the Texas Heartbeat Act. We became the main defenders for preborn babies and for the state’s strongest Pro-Life law. Even Planned Parenthood’s lawyer said in court, “Texas Right to Life and John Seago are the biggest threats to Planned Parenthood.”
