Watch Live: Texas House Committee Hears Bills Ending 10-Day Rule, Protecting Conscience

The Texas House Committee on Public Health is considering two Pro-Life priority bills today:

  • Repeal Anti-Life “10-Day Rule” (HB 2609 by Parker); and
  • Conscience Protections for Health Care Professionals (HB 1424 by Oliverson)

HB 2609 by Parker would end the 10-Day Rule in the Texas Advance Directives Act, which takes life-or-death decisions away from patients and families.

HB 1424 by Oliverson would enact clear protections for health care workers who object to training, procedures, or elective medical decisions that violate their consciences.
