Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke has become a nationally recognized figure because of his radically leftist policy ideas and campaign promises in his Senate and presidential campaigns since 2018. Name any extreme left position and Beto is sure to be supportive.
Gun bans. Socialist tax policies. Government censorship of churches. And radical support for abortion, including late-term dismemberment abortions? No problem.
These positions have made Beto the darling of the national media. But average Americans seem to have little love for Beto. So far, his most dedicated fans have proved to be the media.
In 2018 he lost a Senate race to Ted Cruz. In 2020 he lost a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Now he is running again. This time for Texas governor.
After kicking off his gubernatorial campaign, O’Rourke stopped in the Texas Panhandle to give speeches in Amarillo and Lubbock. There, he bashed the Texas Heartbeat Act and other conservative policies recently passed by the Texas Legislature.
O’Rourke called the Texas Heartbeat Act “dangerous” and “deadly,” asserting that protecting preborn children threatens women’s health care.
Beto’s tirade against the Texas Heartbeat Act and other Pro-Life policies that protect preborn babies comes the very same year that Lubbock citizens voted to make their city a Sanctuary City for the Unborn.
After the city council failed to take action, the citizens of Lubbock took matters into their own hands by passing the Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinance in a 62% to 38% vote. Yet somehow Beto still seems to think that advocating for abortion is a winning move in the Panhandle.
At this point one has to ask, is Beto O’Rourke completely tone deaf?
Even still, O’Rourke’s true threat comes from the attention and praise the media gives him. Without the media’s constant admiration, O’Rourke would only be a twice failed candidate with radical leftist positions. But with the media behind his back O’Rourke poses a true threat to Texas preborn babies, women, and families.
And Beto O’Rourke is a true abortion radical.
In previous interviews and campaign speeches O’Rourke has expressed unequivocal support for wholly barbaric late-term dismemberment abortions. Going even further, he has stated that these cruel dismemberment abortions should be paid for by you and me, the taxpayers.
This year Texas has made significant and real progress in defending Life. The Texas Heartbeat Act, increased funding of the Alternatives to Abortion program, the spread of the Sanctuary City for the Unborn movement, and many other victories mark 2021 as a truly historic Pro-Life year.
Meanwhile, Beto O’Rourke’s speeches in the Panhandle express his continued contempt for preborn Life and his radical support of abortion.
