This Fight is Not Over: Roe is Gone but Life Still Needs Defending

What felt like an impossible dream for most of Pro-Lifers’ lives has become a reality today.

The final ruling from the Supreme Court in Dobbs v. Jackson states; “The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives.”

Today the Supreme Court of the United States overturned one of the worst decisions in the history of the court, a decision that is responsible for the deaths of over 60 million innocent American children.

Roe v. Wade was and is a stain on the moral fabric of our society. Roe is a mistake that will remain an abominable and shameful disgrace for as long as our great nation exists. But now, Roe has finally taken up its rightful place on the ash heap of the most diabolically evil chapters of history.

Roe is gone.

This is history in the making.

In Texas, preborn babies are finally legally protected from brutal murder through elective abortion. Texas’ laws defending all preborn children are now effective once again after being blocked for nearly 50 years by Roe

But the abortion industry and mob are enraged and more determined than ever to find ways to continue the killing of innocent children through abortion. Wrathful abortion activists have already begun gathering, and radical groups have threatened a “night of rage” against Pro-Life groups and churches.

“This is a generational fight,” Democrat Alexandria Ocasio Cortez stated outside the Supreme Court building. Calling for protestors to “fill the streets,” Cortez vowed to continue fighting for the killing of preborn babies in abortion, saying “when we build it back, we got to build back stronger than it was before.”

Today marks a monumental victory. But our fight is not over.

Already twice this year Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate have attempted to pass legislation that would ban all Pro-Life laws and enshrine the killing of babies nationwide without restriction through all 9 months of pregnancy.

Already, pro-abortion district attorneys, including some in Texas, have vowed to ignore Pro-Life laws and give abortionists a free pass to continue killing babies.

The abortion industry is spreading hateful lies to women and families, telling them their futures are crushed and that their freedom has been stripped away.

Roe is gone but the forces of death are not.

Pro-Lifers must remain active and bold in defending the most innocent and vulnerable members of our society. As Texans, we must take unapologetic action to build not just an abortion-free state but a fully Pro-Life Texas.

Texas must continue to lead the Pro-Life movement and the nation.

What must we do?

Texas must:

1)     Hold Abortionists Accountable: Texans must be proactive in ensuring that all preborn babies are truly safe from abortion. We cannot just proclaim that abortion is illegal now and trust the abortion industry and leftist politicians to follow the law. Texas must extend the private civil enforcement tool, which made the Texas Heartbeat Act so massively effective, to all current and future Pro-Life laws so that all Texas preborn children are being truly saved.

2)     Support Pregnant Women: Texas has already expanded care and resources for pregnant women and families to $100 million through the Alternatives to Abortion (A2A) program. Texas must further expand the A2A program, pass legislation to safeguard pregnant and parenting college students from discrimination, and reform the adoption process to ensure women and families have the resources they need to thrive and choose Life.

3)     Protect Hospital Patients: Unethical and unconstitutional laws like the 10-Day Rule continue to threaten and destroy the lives of vulnerable patients in hospitals across Texas. Texas must repeal the deadly 10-Day Rule and not forget these patients who are being denied their Right to Life.

Across the country, enraged abortion activists are screaming in self-righteous anger.

“Today’s Supreme Court opinion will live in infamy as a step backward for women’s rights and human rights,” Democrat Hillary Clinton announced over twitter.

The media has fallen into a frenzy painting an apocalyptic picture of a post-Roe world.

“I’m on a train right now & the number of women who have tears in their eyes, including myself, is something I’m going to remember for the rest of my life,” another tweeted.

Pro-abortion politicians and the media are lying to Americans so that many truly believe their rights have been destroyed.

Today is a glorious day for our nation. Once again Texas has the power to protect the weakest and most defenseless. Let us praise God for this wonderful victory and let’s get to work protecting Life and building a Pro-Life Texas.

Help us continue the fight to defend Life!
