Supporter Spotlight: Mona and Vince Puente

Many Pro-Life Texans call North Texas home.  Regardless of where you reside in the many regions of Texas, you will be inspired by getting to know Vince and Mona.  Upon meeting them, you will be greeted with a warm hug and a genuine interest in your personal journey.  Vince and Mona have encouraged countless individuals to help the Pro-Life movement save more innocent lives.  Their devotion to building a Culture of Life even expands to their own home as they always eagerly open their home to fellow Texas Right to Life supporters.  Take a few minutes to get to know Vince and Mona, and let their words motivate you.

Both Vince and Mona: “Our faith unequivocally drives us to Life.  If we do not adhere to God’s word on this issue, then all else falls short.  Both of us have a similar story.  Neither of us had ever given abortion much thought up into our mid-twenties.  As our faith matured and the question was asked of us (and the Lord moved in us), we eventually thought thru what Pro-Life and pro-choice truly meant.”

Both: “Many years ago, Texas Right to Life had an insert in the “Citizen,” a monthly publication by Focus on the Family.  (That is how we heard about Texas Right to Life).  Every Life is important. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; …” (Jeremiah 1:4)

Mona: “(When I was) a brand-new mom, a friend asked me if I believed there was ever a circumstance when abortion was the right thing to do.  This was the first time I had really seriously thought about it.  I’m so glad she posed the question.”

Vince: “I have had the honor of serving the Texas Right to Life Political Action Committee, specifically in the interview of candidates, as to their true Pro-Life convictions.  This has been educational for me and extremely interesting.”

Both: “Texas Right to Life is set apart because of the incredible reputation and success it has achieved in the legislative arena.  The more we are exposed to the different aspects of Texas Right to Life (Legislative, Political, Educational) the more we feel connected.”

Both: “The Pro-Life movement has emboldened our faith.  I hope to see a Pro-Life curriculum developed for parents, churches, and Christian schools to administer to our children, one that would be age-appropriate from age 3 to age 18.  The Lord always brings up this topic (with friends, family, and coworkers).  If their views are opposed to ours, we listen carefully, then try to show them the weakness in their position with love.”

Both: “We speak boldly as the Lord provides platforms; we commit financially to Life causes; we engage friends and acquaintances; we open our home to Pro-Life functions; we seek out candidates who are bold in their Life position, supporting them financially and generating support for them.
