The Mustangs for Life at SMU hosted Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa, founder and director of New Wave Feminists. Destiny spoke about how being feminist and Pro-Life not only work together, but are essential to each other. She also addressed the lies told to women about the respect they deserve for their bodies, their emotions, and their whole selves. The students admired how she approached the Pro-Life issue so personally. Mackenzie Young, Mustangs for Life Vice-President and Dr. Joseph Graham Fellow, described Destiny’s message: “She listens to the opposition and doesn’t negate their feelings or views, but always shows how the Pro-Life movement is distinctly and inherently Pro-Woman as well.”
