Senate Democrats green-light infanticide, block vote on abortion survivor bill

The Senate considered The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act of 2019 on Monday, February 25.  This bill simply tells health care providers they must protect and care for babies who survive abortion attempts and are born alive, and stops abortionists from killing them or leaving them to die outside their mother’s womb.

Despite our Pro-Life majority in the Senate, anti-Life Democrats, in a near-party-line-vote, blocked The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act from receiving the 60 votes necessary to “invoke cloture,” meaning move forward.

Today’s vote underscores the fight for 2020.  Every Senate Democrat who is running for president in 2020 supported killing babies who are born alive after abortions.  And had you not defeated his 2018 bid for Senate last November, Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke, a possible 2020 hopeful for president or Senate announcing his ambitions this week, would have voted pro-abortion as well.  In fact, in 2018 O’Rourke as a congressman voted against the same measure.

Thankfully, your Texas Pro-Life values still have a voice in Washington – for now.
