As the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history, Barack Obama is holding fast to his anti-Life record by threatening to go against the desire of the American people once again by promising to veto a bill that would prohibit the use of federal funds for abortion under Obamacare.
The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the Protect Life Act on October 13, a piece of legislation which seeks, in part, to hold Obamacare to the same current funding standard as Title X, which cannot use federal funds to pay for abortions.
Obama's determination to push back at Pro-Life legislation is not surprising. His health care law is the largest congressional overreach of power and the biggest expansion of abortion funding in America’s history. He has removed conscience protections from Pro-Life doctors and nurses, appointed anti-Life judges and other individuals to his administration, used taxpayer dollars to fund abortions abroad and deliberately went against the Pro-Life majority to pass his massive health care overhaul.
In a statement from the White House regarding the abortion-funding restriction, Obama’s pro-abortion stance holds true:
“H.R. 358 [Protect Life Act] goes well beyond the safeguards found in current law and reinforced in the President’s Executive Order by restricting women’s private insurance choices. If the President is presented with H.R. 358, his senior advisors would recommend that he veto the bill.”
To combat Obama’s expansion of abortion funding, all members of the Pro-Life community have an obligation to fight the pro-abortion Obama administration and his blatant disregard for human life. Texas Right to Life is working to pass state legislation that would protect Texans from subsidizing abortion under Obamacare.
Obama’s brazen disrespect for the wishes of the American people is contrary to this country’s founding and to the Pro-Life majority that has been expressed. President Obama remains ardently committed to the abortion scheme in the United States and it is time his reign of bloodshed be stopped.
