U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called Pro-Life laws “sinful” on Women’s Equality Day, once again acting against her self-proclaimed Catholic faith.
“The fact that this is such an assault on women of color and women — lower income families is just sinful. It’s sinful,” the Democrat from California said during a “reproductive health” panel on Friday. “It’s wrong that they would be able to say to women what they think women should be doing with their lives and their bodies. But it’s sinful, the injustice of it all.”
Pelosi’s comments came during her visit to the University of California San Francisco Mission Bay campus for a “reproductive health roundtable discussion.”
The panel was largely organized to respond to the Supreme Court’s historic decision in June that overturned Roe v. Wade.
Since June, states regained their authority to protect preborn children from abortion. Texas has saved an estimated 10,000 babies from elective abortion since outlawing the injustice in June.
