Mark Houck said he “100%” plans to hold the FBI accountable after the agency raided his home with excessive and unnecessary force with his wife and seven children present.
Joe Biden’s Department of Justice sent 20-30 armed agents to arrest Houck at his Pennsylvania home in September 2022 over old allegations that he violated federal law in an altercation outside an abortion facility. The jury found Houck not guilty within an hour.
Houck’s case is a clear example of the biased and unjust actions taken by the Department of Justice. The FBI targeted Houck over a 2021 incident in which a Planned Parenthood volunteer harassed Houck’s then-12-year-old son and Houck shoved him.
Even the city’s Democrat prosecutor declined to prosecute Houck when the altercation happened, and the civil lawsuit brought by the Planned Parenthood volunteer was thrown out. Yet, the DOJ still detained and charged Houck anyway.
Beforehand, Houck said he would turn himself in peacefully if the FBI decided to bring charges, but the FBI instead deployed a SWAT-style team of 20-30 agents with long guns and ballistic shields to raid his home. This show of force was not only excessive but also traumatizing for Houck’s wife and children, who were at home at the time of the raid.
Senator Josh Hawley pressed head of the DOJ Merrick Garland, “Why did the Justice Department do this? Why did you send 20 to 30 SWAT-style agents and a SWAT-style team to this guy’s house when everybody else had declined to prosecute and he had offered to turn himself in?”
Houck said on the 40 Days for Life podcast on Monday that the virtue of justice requires him to hold the FBI accountable:
“In this case, the Pro-Life movement is due justice, and we need to pursue justice for the good of the movement, for the good of other dads and moms and people out there who could be victims in this way.”
