Bridey and Ian met at their freshman orientation at LeTourneau University in 2015. Bridey, who attended Texas Right to Life’s Team LIFE Camp and was a recently accepted Dr. Joseph Graham Fellow, had her sights set on establishing a Pro-Life club on campus. The pair met again when Ian joined the group Pro-Life LeTourneau after seeing the club’s Cemetery of the Innocents display on campus, which commemorated lives lost to abortion in Texas.
As they learned more about each other, Bridey and Ian increasingly admired the other’s commitment to the cause. “Pro-Life advocacy is a reflection of who Bridey is,” said Ian, “because she wants to help those hurting and in need, a desire I appreciate and respect.” Likewise, Bridey said, “Being Pro-Life was a non-negotiable for anyone I considered dating. Ian was passionately Pro-Life, and this wasn’t a fringe issue for him.”
They began dating in the fall of 2016 and continued their activism together through sidewalk counseling, tabling, and both serving as president of Pro-Life LeTourneau throughout their time at school. Bridey and Ian graduated in May 2019 and were married in December 2019. They live in the Galveston area while Bridey studies physical therapy at The University of Texas Medical Branch, and they look forward to volunteering at their local pregnancy resource center.
