The citizens of Texas have spoken, and they have awarded Rick Perry another victory. Texas Right to Life is grateful that Texans understand the importance of having a Pro-Life governor who can help to promote a Culture of Life. Governor Perry has been a loyal friend to the Pro-Life movement, and we look forward to working together in the upcoming legislative session.
In addition to Governor Perry’s win, this election gave Pro-Lifers a chance to defeat some entrenched pro-abortion House members. With a Pro-Life governor and more Pro-Life representatives in the State House, the redistricting effort coming in 2011 should reflect the conservative, Pro-Life majority in our state. (Texas is expected to gain four more state representatives.) During this upcoming legislative session, we will be collaborating with all our Pro-Life friends in the capitol to pass strong Pro-Life bills.
