"Catholic" university in Seattle holds anti-Life talk by abortionist

Seattle University, a self-proclaimed Catholic school, was slated to hold a disturbingly anti-Life talk last week.  The school’s group, Seattle Nursing Students for Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, invited abortionist Sara Pentlicky to present a talk entitled, “Catholicism and Full Spectrum Reproductive Healthcare: One Physician’s Perspective.”

Pentlicky commits abortions for Planned Parenthood of Seattle.  The short bio about her on the Facebook event says that the abortionist would discuss “her experience being raised Catholic and how she came to be a full spectrum reproductive healthcare provider.”  This suggests that Pentlicky may be one of the misguided individuals who believe that “being raised Catholic” and “being a practicing Catholic in good standing” are the same thing.

In spite of the school’s Catholic persona, the nursing students’ group appears to be hostile toward Catholic teaching on abortion and sexuality at large: next month they will host a talk entitled, “Miscarriage of Medicine: The Growth of Catholic Hospitals and the Threat to Reproductive and End-of-Life Care.”

Lest there be any confusion, Catholicism and abortion/abortion-causing drugs and devices (aka “full spectrum” so-called healthcare) are mutually exclusive.  In fact, the Catholic Church has always unequivocally upheld the dignity and value of human Life and sexuality.  Any attempt to dovetail Catholicism and abortion is doomed for failure… and Pentlicky’s talk was no exception.
