Bill Banning All Pro-Life Laws Fails in the Senate

The so called “Women’s Health Protection Act” (WHPA) that would have banned all Pro-Life laws across the country, failed in the U.S. Senate today. The bill died with 49 voting for and 51 voting against this bill which would have radically altered U.S. law to ban any and all restrictions on abortion.

Every single Democrat except for Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) voted in favor. All senate Republicans, including Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn of Texas, voted against.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called for a Senate vote on the WHPA soon after news broke of the leaked Supreme Court draft overturning Roe v. Wade. Immediately after the news of the leak broke, radically leftist leaders including Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Bernie Sanders demanded “codifying Roe” to ban all Pro-Life laws.

“Republicans suddenly don’t want to talk about their complicity in this effort,” Schumer said in a press briefing on the WHPA. “You ask them about, do they support repealing Roe v. Wade, they change the subject. What does that say? It says they know they’re on the wrong side of history.”

Over 60 million dead American children, killed by abortion, as a direct result of Roe proves Schumer’s words could not be more false. Ending the genocide and slaughter of millions of preborn babies (a slaughter that continues today despite abortion activists’ outrage) is the right side of history.

We are grateful for all senators who stood in defense of preborn babies, refusing to play into Schumer’s political games. Republicans must continue to stand strong for the Right to Life of all Americans, born and preborn.
