In an interview with late night host Jimmy Kimmel, Joe Biden announced he is considering taking executive action if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade.
A fawning Kimmel brought up the Supreme Court’s likely decision overturning Roe v. Wade this summer. Biden responded saying, “It’s just ridiculous, in my view. I don’t think the country will stand for it. But what I think we’re going to have to do is some executive orders I could employ, we believe, we’re looking into that right now.”
To which Kimmel responded enthusiastically, “employ ‘em!”
Biden did not address the attempt by an abortion activist on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s life that occurred the very same day. In discussing the possible overturning of Roe, Biden also did not address the widespread calls from abortion groups for rioting and violence, nor did he even discourage the use of violence in protest during his time on Kimmel’s show.
Instead, Biden repeated his calls for Congress to “codify Roe,” that is mandate all states allow the killing of babies without restriction to the moment of birth. “If (Roe is overturned) we have to legislate it,” Biden asserted, “we have to make sure we pass legislation making it a law, that is the federal government says this is how it works.”
Since taking office Biden has firmly positioned himself as the most pro-abortion and anti-Life president in U.S. history. When news of the Supreme Court leak broke, Biden called the decision to defend preborn babies by returning the abortion question to the states “really quite a radical decision.”
If Roe v. Wade is overturned hundreds of thousands of babies’ lives will be saved. The 1973 Roe decision invalidated all states’ ability to protect preborn Life. After Roe is overturned the abortion question will return to the state legislatures, allowing Pro-Life states, like Texas, to defend all preborn Life throughout pregnancy. Once Roe is gone every preborn baby will be protected from elective abortion in Texas.
Already twice this year Congress has attempted to pass a law that would again strip states of their ability to protect preborn Life and mandate unrestricted abortion through all nine months of pregnancy.
Spurred on by adoring Hollywood celebrities like Jimmy Kimmel, Biden and radically pro-abortion Democrats pretend to be in the majority and continue to push this extreme anti-Life legislation. Just as he ignores his plummeting approval ratings, Biden continues to ignore the 52% of Americans who believe that abortion should be illegal in all or most circumstances, the 65% who believe abortion should be illegal in the second trimester, and the 82% of Americans who believe abortion should be illegal in the third trimester.
