Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell has been charged with eight counts of murder: one woman died of a drug overdose during an abortion, and seven babies born alive and then killed by Gosnell. He allegedly severed their spines with scissors (as in a partial-birth abortion). His arraignment is set for March 2, 2011.
If Gosnell is in fact guilty, his actions will clearly show a love of money far outweighing his concern for the women under his care. The Philadelphia grand jury discovered that he made at least $1.8 million annually from performing abortions. According to the Philadelphia Daily News's Stephanie Farr, “That figure does not account for any of the money he took in from allegedly selling illegal prescriptions to drug addicts in his community, including his notable distinction of being one of the top three prescribers of OxyContin in Pennsylvania, something federal authorities continue to investigate.”
Gosnell’s practice was so blatantly gruesome that even the National Abortion Foundation (NAF) would not accept him as a member. According to their inspection in 2009, the NAF inspector had never seen a facility with conditions and practices like Gosnell’s. His lack of concern for women and children is appalling—even to pro-abortion individuals. Let us pray that the Culture of Life can spread through this nation and crush the culture of death.
