Lubbock continues to make history as the largest Sanctuary City for the Unborn
This May marks one year since the citizens of Lubbock made history by voting to become the largest Sanctuary City for the Unborn in America.
When Lubbock’s citizens passed the ordinance their city was not only the largest to do so, but also the first with a major university and active abortion business.
The Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinance protects the preborn and mothers by outlawing ALL elective abortions within the city limits, enforced through civil liabilities on abortion providers.
The Lubbock City Council disgraced themselves by refusing to pass the ordinance which allowed a Planned Parenthood location to open in Lubbock and begin committing abortions.
In a landslide Pro-Life vote, 62% in favor and 38% against, the people of Lubbock took a solid and meaningful stance for Life.
Planned Parenthood immediately sued to stop the Pro-Life law. Demonstrating the strength of the Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinances, Planned Parenthood’s suit was dismissed and subsequently dropped.
Lubbock’s passage of the Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinance has encouraged increasingly more cities to pass their own versions of the Pro-Life law. 41 Texas cities now have enforceable Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinances and more cities continue to join!
