Last week, Houston Coalition for Life received joyful news—one of the mothers they had been counseling unexpectedly gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and couldn’t be happier to hold her in her arms!
After learning she was pregnant with her third child, the mom visited the pregnancy center looking for help–feeling like she did not have many options. Due to issues with family support and the father of the baby, she was “so scared and didn’t know if [she]wanted to do this.”
However, at just 34 weeks, she began experiencing some back pain and decided to run a bath to get some relief. However, to her surprise, she felt the need to start pushing, and within 10 minutes, her precious little girl was born! By the time the paramedics arrived, her baby was already 20 minutes old, the pregnancy center told Life News.

The new mom shared a touching moment she had with her daughter, saying, “I apologized to my newborn, I just needed that intimate moment with her to let her know I couldn’t wait to hold her and welcome her into this world. She went through emotional pain with me as well as physical pain and I’m so lucky she did not get touched health-wise bc I was kicked, punched, pushed around, and dragged around while pregnant. I promised to protect her from anything and anyone and it felt so good in my heart to know she’s a healthy baby and overall was untouched by the evil. That just proves that the evil can try me 9 times and God will lift me 10.”
This is a powerful testament to the beauty of choosing Life. Yet, many pregnant mothers in Texas still face uncertainty and consider abortion. That’s why it’s essential to provide the support and resources they need to confidently welcome their babies into the world.
In a text to her sonographer, the new mom said, “Remember that day I went in there and told you I was so scared and didn’t know if I wanted to do this?! I’m so glad God put you guys in my way to speak some sense into me, you guys welcomed me with open arms every time I needed a laugh, someone to trust and talk to, and to allow me to see my baby grow while I was having so many complications with my insurance. I really love you all and appreciate you all so much for all the love and support!”
This young mother’s story is one of many, but thousands of other Texas women still find themselves in similar situations, unsure where to turn. That’s why pregnancy resource centers are so vital—they provide support, guidance, and love to women who need it most.
In the past year alone, 30,000 preborn lives were lost in Texas due to illegal abortion pills and out-of-state procedures. With abortion now outlawed in our state, pregnancy resource centers have seen a 33% surge in demand for their services—proof that countless mothers still need support.
That’s why Texas Right to Life is working in the Capitol to secure additional funding for the Thriving Texas Families program, which reimburses pregnancy centers, adoption agencies, and maternity homes. Also, due to recent changes to the program, we are working to pass a bill that will ensure only life-affirming providers receive this funding (SB 1388 by Senator Kolkhorst). These life-saving resources are essential for women and babies across Texas, and must remain available!
Clearly, the need is great—but so is the opportunity to make a difference. Join us in prayer for this brave mother and her children, that God may bless them abundantly.
