“I am not scared of the future. Not even a little.” -Father Bill Peckman
Father Bill Peckman, a Missouri Roman Catholic priest, shared profound encouragement that Pro-Lifers would do well to take to heart today.
Today marks the end of the presidential administration of Donald Trump and the beginning of the Biden and Harris administration. Throughout their campaign both Biden and Harris have promised radical anti-Life and leftist policies.
But a day like today does not call for despair nor fear. Today calls for courage, hope and trust in the Lord.
“For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Fr. Peckman reminds us that our hope should not be placed in any politician or earthly power. For “our help is in the name of the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 124:8).
Perhaps our hope and courage would be crushed today, if we were fighting a fight of this world. But the war has already been won, by Christ on the Cross. No politician right, left, or otherwise can change the fact that the Creator and Life-giver of the universe has taken on our sin and redeemed us for eternity.
Times may seem dark and they may grow darker. But these are the times we have been given.
Our mission has not changed. Our conviction is undaunted. We will continue to work tirelessly for the defense of innocent human Life. We will not back down from this struggle to defend ALL innocent human Life at all stages.
Today does not call for fear, but rather hope.
“What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
