About Texas Right to Life
We’re Pro-Life Christians Saving Babies From Abortion and Helping Hospital Patients
Texas Right to Life was founded in 1973 by ordinary moms, dads, pastors, students, and teachers in Houston. This small team set out just to save babies in their city, but God had bigger plans.
Our mission grew, reaching more hearts, changing laws, and rescuing nearly 1,000,000 children. Because of our impact, Texas Right to Life is now a leader in the Pro-Life movement, not just in our state but around the world.
The fight to end abortion is unique. Not only do we need to save babies right now, but we also need to change our culture so that people are no longer seen as disposable. That’s why we work in three ways—education, legislation, and advocacy—training Pro-Life students, passing new laws, and winning legal battles to protect preborn babies.
How We Work
Pass Laws
We send full-time advocates to the state Capitol to meet with lawmakers, draft bills, and share expert insight on how preborn children are still aborted today.
Fight for Justice
Overturning Roe v. Wade didn’t confirm the Right to Life for unborn babies; it just said that the Constitution doesn’t protect abortion. To end abortion for good, we must go on the offense in court to prove that preborn babies are just as human as any of us.
Create Lasting Change
We teach college and high school students about Pro-Life issues and help them lead groups on their campuses. Our students support pregnant women, host Pro-Life speakers, and change minds about abortion so that we win the culture.
Now, we are fighting against an underground abortion industry that’s growing every day. They seek to break our laws and hurt preborn children and their mothers. Texas Right to Life can take on these new attacks with your help and will continue fighting until every life–born and preborn–is protected.

Meet Our Leadership
Teresa Doyle
Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer
God lit a fire in Teresa’s heart when she personally witnessed the passion of Texas Right to Life’s founders as a college student. Nearing graduation at the University of St. Thomas, a friend encouraged her to join the team in 2000 as a part-time accounting assistant. The Lord grew His call in Teresa’s life to use her talents for His Kingdom.
Over the years, the organization looked to her more and more to guide our mission, first as Finance Director, then Chief Financial Officer, and now as Executive Director. Her background in business and her deep love for God drive Texas Right to Life to be faithful stewards of every gift we receive.
As a mother herself, Teresa is passionate about ensuring that pregnant women in Texas receive care, support, and protection as they choose Life for themselves and for their babies.
Dr. John Seago
President
Dr. John Seago is a devoted Christian, a proud husband and father, and a bioethicist with a doctorate from Loyola University Chicago.
John’s passion for the Pro-Life cause began as a child—praying outside abortion clinics with his parents. One day, a woman canceled her abortion appointment and asked his parents to adopt her baby. He realized that protecting preborn children was a calling he couldn’t ignore.
John volunteered as an intern for Texas Right to Life at 17 years old, researching legal strategies to end abortion. Now, he leads the very organization where he got his start. Under his guidance, Texas Right to Life has achieved some of the most significant Pro-Life victories in the nation. He believes Texas is strategically positioned to lead the attack on the new underground abortion industry and protect vulnerable patients all over the country.
