Annelise Camp is a sweet 2-year-old girl who suffered a drowning accident on Memorial Day.

Now, Annelise and her family have new hope!

The toddler is finally in a different hospital that will honor her family’s wishes and give her a chance!

Thank you for your prayers! God moved mountains!

Five weeks ago, Annelise went to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where doctors quickly tried to declare her “brain dead” and take away her treatment. The Camp family reached out for help and connected with Texas Right to Life.

Annelise was not, and is not, brain dead. Her heart is beating, and her body continues to function and respond.

Her parents worked with Texas Right to Life and other Pro-Life advocates to win a court order preventing harmful brain death testing and protecting Annelise’s access to her ventilator.

This gave Annelise and her family a precious resource that other patients don’t always get: time.

Normally, families race against the clock to stop harmful brain death testing or are left completely helpless when a hospital declares their loved one “brain dead” and takes away treatment. The court order allowed Texas Right to Life and the Camp family to transfer her to another hospital that will care for her.

As of Wednesday, Annelise is at Ochsner Health in Louisiana with a medical team committed to fighting for her rather than ending her life prematurely.

Throughout it all, Christians across the nation prayed for Annelise and stood alongside her family.

Jesus worked a miracle!

While her journey continues, her family now has something they have been fighting for since the beginning: hope.

Sadly, Annelise’s story is not unique. Families across Texas continue to face brain death determinations that leave them with few options and little time to think about what’s best for the patient or give their loved one a chance. Many families feel powerless.

That is why Texas Right to Life’s Patient Advocacy team works every day to serve families in crisis. We help them navigate complex medical situations, connect them with resources, and fight for patients whose lives are at risk. Thank you for praying for Annelise and for standing with families when they need help most!

Stories like Annelise’s remind us why this work matters. If you would like to help families facing life and death situations, please consider making a gift to our Patient Advocacy Fund. Your generosity helps ensure that when a family is told there is no hope, they have someone ready to fight for them.
