Dear Mrs. Graham:

Last week, the House passed H.R. 3, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, with my strong support. This landmark bill would establish a government-wide, permanent prohibition on taxpayer subsidies for abortion and abortion insurance coverage. It would also close abortion-funding loopholes created in President Obama’s health care law and prohibit tax-preferred status for abortion through health savings accounts and tax deductions. Finally, this bill would make the Hyde-Weldon conscience clause permanent and add additional remedies for pro-life health care providers. This bill has been introduced in the Senate by Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi, and as a cosponsor of the House bill, I will continue to press for it to become federal law.

Throughout my years of public service, I have worked to protect the life of the unborn and will continue to do so. It is essential that we reduce the number of abortions in America, and you can be assured that I will continue to use every tool at my disposal to promote the sanctity of life and the prevent taxpayer funds from subsidizing abortion.

Thank you for entrusting me to represent you in the United States Congress. Please visit my website at www.culberson.house.gov .

Sincerely,

John Culberson
Member of Congress
