The Pro-Life Scorecard is one of the most reliable tools for Texas voters who want the truth about who leads, who follows, and who is subverting Pro-Life legislative efforts under the Capitol dome. Campaign speeches and mailers touting a politician as a “Pro-Life Champion” are cheap: Pro-Life Texans want to see strong votes and a solid record of protecting pregnant women, preborn children, and vulnerable patients.
Since the majority of the work for Pro-Life legislation and victories happens away from the public eye, Texas Right to Life also is releasing our Pro-Life Heroes List for elected officials who went above and beyond voting the “right way” when the issue was on the floor. These are the leaders who worked tirelessly for Pro-Life victories and made this challenging session a success. Similarly, there are some elected officials who have worked against Pro-Life reforms or have promoted dangerous legislation Texas Right to Life opposed. Even though some of these individuals may have decent voting records when Pro-Life legislation finally had public votes, these elected officials did more harm to the cause than good. For these legislators, Texas Right to Life is releasing our 84th Session Dishonorable Mentions List.
