The Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement recently released a shocking study revealing numerous Christian colleges and universities maintain ties to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, responsible for over 390,000 abortions annually in the United States. Among the 732 Christian colleges involved in the study, one in eleven has a relationship with Planned Parenthood.
Key findings in the report revealed:
- 65 professors had a connection to the abortion industry through events or publications.
- 14 professors had prior employment or board affiliations with abortion industry leaders, including Planned Parenthood.
- Nearly half of the Christian schools referred students to Planned Parenthood for ‘health resources.’
The Demetree Institute used this study to raise awareness and encourage Christian schools to sever their ties with Planned Parenthood, and they succeeded! Since the study’s initial publication, over a dozen Christian schools have cut their connections and are no longer associated with Planned Parenthood. In total, 54 connections have been severed since the study began in 2021.
Despite the study’s release, six Texas Christian schools have continued to maintain ties with Planned Parenthood. The report utilized a grading system based on the number of infractions by each school, where an ‘infraction’ indicates a relationship with Planned Parenthood or another abortion industry entity.

Texas Right to Life urges these schools to sever ties with Planned Parenthood and any abortion organization. Christian schools should consistently stand for the protection of preborn babies.
