Sharon Osbourne opened up about the abortion she had at just 17 years old. Reflecting on her experience, she expressed deep regret and warned others of the lasting emotional and physical toll it took on her. “I would never recommend it to anyone because it comes back to haunt you,” she admitted.
The procedure not only left emotional scars but possibly contributed to her later struggles with pregnancy, including three miscarriages.
“I had an abortion at 17 and it was the worst thing I ever did,” Osborne revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail. Sharon, a young teen, told her mother she was expecting at two months along, to which she responded, “You have to get rid of it.”
Feeling abandoned and afraid, she headed to the clinic because her mother had pushed her off, saying, “I’d got myself in this mess, now she had to get me out.”
“She didn’t come. I went alone. I was terrified. It was full of other young girls, and we were all terrified and looking at each other and nobody was saying a bloody word. I howled my way through it, and it was horrible,” she added.
The repercussions of that day stayed with her. “I would never recommend it to anyone because it comes back to haunt you. When I tried to have children, I lost three — I think it was because something had happened to my cervix during the abortion.”

Remorseful, she said, “In life, whatever it is, you pay somewhere down the line. You have to be accountable.”
Osbourne’s story is deeply emotional, highlighting the horrific experience she faced alone at such a young age. Abortion both murders an innocent baby and has lasting effects on women. Abortion harms women physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Despite narratives from some celebrities and organizations that frame abortion as empowering, without repercussions, or necessary for success, Sharon’s experience tells a different story. She did not find empowerment in her choice—only pain and regret.
Pregnancy can be a stressful experience, particularly for women facing significant career milestones, high schoolers without parental support, or those in isolated situations with limited resources. While it can be natural to feel anxious in these circumstances, ending the life of the precious preborn baby will never be the solution.
Numerous resources, such as pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes, are available to support women in difficult situations. These organizations offer essential services like housing, diapers, counseling, community support, and adoption assistance, ensuring that no woman has to face pregnancy alone.
Sharon’s experience reminds us that, as Christians, we are called to support pregnant mothers in need. By offering encouragement and guidance, we can help them embrace the new life growing within them and empower them to become nurturing, loving mothers.
Her testimony also sheds light on the truth that abortion carries consequences, despite claims by anti-Life activists. Join us in prayer for Sharon Osbourne, that she receives full healing in Jesus.
