Texas Pro-Life Congressman Chip Roy (R), along with nearly forty Republicans, issued an open letter demanding answers and transparency in the Biden administration’s “continued politicization of The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)” to target Pro-Life activists.
“I am outraged by the Biden administration’s open war on Pro-Life activists and weaponization of federal law enforcement against patriotic Americans for their beliefs,” Congressman Roy stated.
“The recent rise in high-profile FBI investigations into pro-life Americans raises well-founded concerns that the FBI has amassed too much power and has become a partisan cudgel wielded by the Biden Administration at the behest of progressive activists against political opponents and dissenters,” the letter opens.
Roy’s letter asks; Why is the FBI using aggressive and potentially violent tactics to arrest and apprehend Pro-Life citizens for crimes which have, in many cases, already been dropped by local authorities?
In an ongoing and vicious series of armed raids on Pro-Life homes, the Biden administration has been cracking down on Pro-Life activists.
In September, Pro-Life father Mark Houck’s home was raided by at least twenty heavily armed agents and he was arrested at gunpoint in front of his young children. Houck’s crime? He pushed a Planned Parenthood activist away from his son after the man would not stop yelling and verbally abusing the twelve-year-old boy. Despite charges being dropped at the state level, Biden’s FBI took up the case, apprehending Houck in extreme fashion.
Houck’s attorneys later revealed that he had offered to come in voluntarily months before but was ignored in order to make a statement meant “to intimidate people of faith and pro-life Americans.”
The Biden administration has been using the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which prohibits interference, destruction, or damage to abortion facilities, pregnancy centers, and churches, as their justification for carrying out these cavalier arrests of peaceful citizens.
“Overzealous prosecutions under the FACE Act weaponize the power of federal law enforcement,” the letter states. “These abuses of federal power against pro-life Americans based solely on their beliefs undermine the American people’s trust in the FBI.”
The letter also points out the Biden administration’s clear bias and open agenda in sinking significant federal resources to aggressively arrest Pro-Lifers while completely ignoring an ongoing string of violence, attacks, and vandalism against Pro-Life organizations and churches.
“There have been no reports of FBI investigations or DOJ prosecutions in relation to the more than 72 pregnancy resource centers and 80 Catholic churches that have been attacked or vandalized since the Dobbs leak – heinous, violent, and organized crimes across state lines that are also subject to prosecution under the FACE Act.”
The letter concludes by stating, “it is clear that congressional scrutiny of the FBI’s use of the FACE Act is needed.” Congressman Roy and the nearly 40 Republicans demand answers and transparency from the Biden administration by October 20.
Texas Pro-Lifers who signed onto Congressman Roy’s letter include Representatives Randy Weber, Louie Gohmert, Michael Cloud, Ronny Jackson, Brian Babin, and Senator Ted Cruz.
