New video: Center for Medical Progress debunks ongoing lie that Planned Parenthood doesn´t profit from sale of body parts

A new video released by the Center for Medical Progress – the first in more than two months – aggregates nine instances in which Planned Parenthood and their affiliates admitted to profiting from the sale of body parts from the children killed in their clinics.

Although Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards has audaciously echoed the lie that Planned Parenthood “does not profit in any way” from the sale of body parts, she and many of her high-ranking colleagues admit to just that on numerous occasions.

“The undercover footage released in the past half-year by The Center for Medical Progress,” says the organization, “shows medical directors and executives from the top leadership of Planned Parenthood admitting the abortion business trades baby body parts for money and indicating the profit motive undergirding these illicit sales.”

In the footage, Cate Dyer, Founder and CEO of StemExpress, told undercover journalists from the Center for Medical Progress that she doesn’t know of clinics that have not profited from the lucrative agreement the tissue procurement company maintained with Planned Parenthood (before, that is, StemExpress’s activities were exposed by the release of footage and the company cut ties with the abortion giant).

Abortionist Vanessa Russo, Compliance Program Administrator for Planned Parenthood Keystone, candidly stated that she believed remuneration for the collection of fetal tissue was perfectly acceptable (and in the same footage, bemoans the scrutiny of Pro-Lifers, which she believes hampers her ability to profit further from such transactions).

The notorious wine-swilling abortionist Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Medical Services for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, divulged to CMP investigators that tissue procurement organizations could establish rapport with abortion mills by agreeing to meet the mill’s established cost for body parts and throw in the added “service” of taking the whole baby (rather than only the desired pieces) so that the abortion mill would not have to pay for disposal of the body – a source of anxiety to virtually all abortionists.  Nucatola said she starts her day by asking the tissue procurement organizations with which she partners which body parts they are “looking to supply today” so that she can tic off requested body parts as she makes her way through the day’s scheduled killings.

Abortionist Savita Ginde, Vice President and Medical Director Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, told investigators posing as tissue buyers that she preferred a “per-item” reimbursement system; “that way we can see how much we can get out of it.”  Likewise, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast’s Director of Research, Melissa Farrell, called the provision of “intact fetal cadavers” (read: full bodies of babies likely born alive and left to die) “just a matter of line items” on Planned Parenthood’s unscrupulous budget.

In a recent interview excerpted in the video, Cecile Richards told Katie Couric that reimbursement for body parts was used for “getting samples.”  That’s pretty straightforward: reimbursement is given to the clinic for the abortionist’s act of producing a dead baby which is then chopped into pieces.  This is a divergence from Planned Parenthood’s common smokescreen claim that reimbursement is essentially dollar-for-dollar coverage of shipping costs.

Lamborghini-coveting abortionist Mary Gatter, President of the Medical Directors’ Council within Planned Parenthood Federation of America, made no attempt to mask her greed when she told CMP investigators that she did not want “to throw out the first figure” in the negotiation, because whoever did would be “at a disadvantage.”  Likewise, Deb VanDerhei, National Director Consortium of Abortion Providers (CAPS), admitted that she knew the exchange of body parts for money to be very lucrative for multiple abortion mills.

“Planned Parenthood’s recent assurances that it has ceased accepting payment for fetal tissue are an admission of guilt and a last-ditch effort to avoid scrutiny for these indefensible transactions,” says the Center for Medial Progress.  “As Congress, the Health and Human Services Department, and numerous state and local law enforcement agencies continue to investigate Planned Parenthood’s barbaric abortion and baby body parts business, this footage is a clear reminder of why there is a broad public mandate for the investigations to continue and for public money to be reassigned from Planned Parenthood to ethical, mainstream medical organizations.”

Meanwhile, both houses of Congress have moved to defund Planned Parenthood, but with abortion-zealous Obama vowing to veto any such legislation that reaches his desk, the gesture cannot come to fruition until a Pro-Life president sits in the White House.
