The Pro-Life movement has always been about saving babies—and also about restoring Life in its fullest sense for mothers, fathers, and families. That means caring not just for the child in the womb, but also for the parents standing in the middle of fear, pressure, and uncertainty. When a child is saved but the parents still feel hopeless, something is still missing.
Recently, at Houston Christian University, a moment unfolded that captures exactly what this mission is meant to be.
During a sidewalk outreach, one of our scholarship recipients, named Jadyn, and her friend Jacob were approached by a pregnant student and her boyfriend.
Like so many couples in similar situations, they were navigating difficult emotions and unknowns about the future. The conversations began simply, with Jadyn and her friend speaking to the couple separately. But within minutes, what happened next could not have been planned or expected. In two separate conversations, just moments apart, both the mother and the father made the decision to give their lives to Jesus Christ.
In the middle of fear, God brought peace. In the middle of confusion, He brought clarity. And in a culture that so often tells people they are alone, He showed up in a deeply personal way. This was not just a shift in perspective—it was a transformation of heart.

This is what the Pro-Life movement looks like when it is lived out fully. Yes, it defends the life of babies in the womb, but it also reaches for the souls of the parents. Because abortion is not only a physical crisis, it is often a spiritual one. And in that moment, these students didn’t just offer information or resources—they offered the Gospel, the only thing that can truly heal what fear and brokenness create.
What happened on that sidewalk carries weight far beyond a single conversation. According to Christian Smith of the University of Notre Dame, decades of research show that the single greatest influence on a child’s faith is not culture, media, or even church leaders—it is their parents. His work demonstrates that the most reliable predictor of a young person’s beliefs is the faith lived out inside their home.
That means when a mother and father encounter Christ, the impact doesn’t stop with them. It reaches into the life of their child and extends into future generations. Parents become the primary voices shaping how their children understand God, truth, and purpose. Not through perfection or having all the right answers, but through consistency, honesty, and the way they live out their faith day by day.
Research shows it is not about saying everything perfectly or following a specific formula. What matters most is the relationship—emotional warmth, genuine conversations, and a willingness to listen. Children are shaped not just by what their parents say, but by how deeply they feel loved and how authentically they see faith lived out. And when both a mother and a father embrace that faith together, the influence becomes even stronger.
That is why moments like this matter so deeply. Because what began as a simple sidewalk conversation is now something much bigger. A child who might have entered the world surrounded by fear can now be raised in a home grounded in faith. A couple who may have felt alone now shares a foundation that can guide them through every challenge ahead. A story that could have ended in heartbreak is now marked by hope and redemption.
This is the true heartbeat of the Pro-Life mission. It is not only about preventing loss—it is about building something lasting. It is about stepping into moments of crisis and bringing not just help, but transformation. It is about recognizing that every life saved is connected to other lives, other stories, and future generations.
What happened at Houston Christian University is a reminder that when we show up faithfully, God moves powerfully. And sometimes, in the span of just a few minutes, He doesn’t just change one Life—He changes an entire family’s future.
