What happens when a college student says yes to defending Life?

  • Sometimes, that “yes” changes a campus.
  • Sometimes, it leads to a lifelong calling.
  • And sometimes, it even leads to finding the person you’ll spend the rest of your life with.

For Kaden Harman, the Dr. Joseph Graham Fellowship did all three.

Kaden first became involved in the Pro-Life movement during his freshman year at Stephen F. Austin State University with Lumberjacks for Life.

But Kaden wanted more.

That’s where the Dr. Joseph Graham Fellowship came in.

Through the Fellowship, Kaden received in-depth training on Pro-Life issues, learned how to defend Life, and was equipped to compassionately speak with women facing unexpected pregnancies. Just as importantly, he found a community of students and mentors who encouraged him to be courageous.

“The Fellowship was pivotal in forming me as an effective Pro-Life advocate and leader,” Kaden says.

And that impact didn’t end when he graduated.

After earning his degree in piano performance from SFA, Kaden stayed involved with Texas Right to Life. He returned to help train new Fellows, sharing the lessons he learned with the students who followed in his footsteps.

He also continued speaking to churches and college Pro-Life groups about abortion, bioethics, campus ministry, and the role men can play in defending Life.

As a pianist, Kaden also found a way to combine one of his greatest talents with his passion for saving babies from abortion.

Today, he serves as president of Every Note for Life, a nonprofit ministry.

Proceeds from his first album, It Is Well, help fund Pro-Life education and training, and his benefit concerts bring people together for the cause.

Kaden’s story is a powerful reminder that you don’t have to work full-time for a Pro-Life organization to spend your life defending Life.

In fact, Kaden encourages current Fellows to look at the gifts and opportunities God has already given them.

“What are your strengths?” he asks. “Where does your passion lie within the Pro-Life movement?”

For Kaden, it means using his voice and talent to serve moms, babies, and families.

And along the way, the Fellowship gave him one of his most incredible blessings: his future wife.

Kaden and Anais first met in 2021 when they were both Dr. Joseph Graham Fellows. They attended the same week-long training at Texas Right to Life’s headquarters.

Over the next few years, their paths continued to cross here and there through Texas Right to Life. Then, they reconnected at an alumni reunion in August 2024.

That weekend changed everything.

Kaden and Anais began talking every day—first through texts, then phone calls and video calls that sometimes lasted two to five hours.

After spending time together at Texas Right to Life’s gala, they finally admitted what had been growing between them and began dating.

This October, they’ll say, “I do.”

Their relationship is a beautiful picture of one of the best blessings of the Fellowship: The community you find here lasts far beyond your college years.

You may not know exactly where your career will take you. You may not know what your future Pro-Life work will look like.

But you have an opportunity to learn, grow, and lead.

Kaden’s story is proof that the Fellowship doesn’t just prepare you for four years on campus. It forms you for a lifetime of Pro-Life leadership.
