The makers of the forthcoming Gosnell Movie have announced that the star of the popular TV show Justified, Nick Searcy, has signed on as director. The movie will chronicle the harrowing stories of now-incarcerated Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell and his “house of horrors,” which enjoyed decades of illegal activity, child murder, and exploitation of women under the noses of the Philadelphia community. In September, filmmakers announced that well-known screenwriter and author, Andrew Klavan, would write the Gosnell Movie script. Nick Searcy is outspoken about his Pro-Life views on Twitter, and recently appeared on The Blaze to share his vision for the film:
The Gosnell Movie is an Indiegogo success story, raising over $2.2 million in donor crowdfunding over a short period of time. Searcy says his goal for the film is to show, “what happened, why it was allowed to happen, and why nobody wanted to talk about it after they found out that it happened.” He intends to present the facts truthfully and let the audience decide their own opinion based on Kermit Gosnell’s actions.
When Entertainment Weekly made the announcement via Twitter, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Searcy has a loyal fan base, and many are excited to see what a Searcy-Klavan collaboration will produce.
