Judging by Planned Parenthood's newly released 2010 annual report, Planned Parenthood continues to be the largest abortion committer in the United States, totaling 329,455 abortions in 2010 alone. In that same time period, they received a total of $487.4 million in government grants and reimbursements.
On both a state and national level, Americans have expressed disgust that the abortion giant receives millions of their tax dollars, and their representatives are listening. As a result, many states have taken measures to restrict the amount of tax dollars flowing to Planned Parenthood. Texas alone has taken away $64.2 million away from the abortion industry. On the federal level, Representative Cliff Stearns launched a Congressional investigation into Planned Parenthood late last year, after allegations that the business is misusing government funds and covering up sex crimes.
Taxpayers do not want to – nor should they be forced to – fund the nation’s largest abortion provider. The government, at all levels, should heed the will of the American people and cut off its funding.
