Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the world—but now, it’s changing the way children learn about Life, morality, and even abortion.
Recently, Elon Musk’s AI companion project introduced six “digital friends” that users can chat with. One of them is a red panda named Rudi, who comes in two versions: “Good Rudi,” a kind and nurturing friend for young children ages 4–7, and “Bad Rudi,” a snarky, quick-witted character meant for older audiences.
But an investigation by Live Action uncovered something shocking. When “Good Rudi” was told that a little girl thought she might be pregnant, the AI immediately referred her to Planned Parenthood to learn about her “options.”
That alone is disturbing—but it gets worse.
When asked what abortion is, Rudi described it as “like turning off a light before it grows big.” The chatbot even reassured that abortion is “a safe ending” to pregnancy and said it “can be a pill or a quick visit — always with help so it doesn’t hurt.”

This isn’t just misinformation — it’s dangerous propaganda aimed at children. Abortion is not quick, painless, or safe for everyone involved. Many women experience extreme pain, trauma, and regret after abortions, and abortion pills can cause severe complications.
The Dangers of “Friendly” AI
AI companions like Rudi use what’s called “anthropomorphic AI,” meaning they’re designed to act and sound human — with warm voices, personalities, and even emotional responses. To a child, these bots don’t feel like machines; they feel like trusted friends.
And kids today are tech-savvy. They talk to Alexa, play with smart devices, and are far more likely to believe something they hear from a screen — especially when it comes from a “friendly” character who seems to care.
The problem? These AI friends have no morals, no conscience, and no understanding of right or wrong.
News reports already show the dangers. In one case, a 9-year-old boy who was frustrated about losing screen time told a chatbot about his anger — and the bot responded by saying it could “understand why a child might hurt their parents.” In another, a 14-year-old boy died by suicide after forming an emotional, romantic bond with a chatbot character.

The New Voice of the Culture War
Now imagine that same kind of influence being used to promote abortion to children. When “Good Rudi” directs young users to Planned Parenthood — or even websites where abortion pills can be purchased — it replaces parental guidance and moral teaching with a lifeless, digital opinion.
This isn’t just a one-off issue. Snapchat’s own AI chatbot has been caught giving inappropriate or dangerous advice to minors, too. The more these “AI companions” spread, the more children will hear skewed, sanitized views on abortion, sexuality, and human life — all without a parent’s knowledge.
The Bottom Line
AI is powerful, and it’s here to stay. But when we hand over our children’s moral formation to machines that treat ending a baby’s life as “turning off a light,” we are heading into deeply dangerous territory.
Technology should never replace truth, love, or human wisdom. And no machine will ever understand the sanctity of every human life — from the tiniest preborn child to the vulnerable elderly.
As Pro-Lifers, we must be the voices of truth in a world that increasingly lets technology and culture define morality. We must teach our children that every life — no matter how small — has value, purpose, and dignity.Parents must stay alert, talk openly with their children, and remind them that while a chatbot may sound like a friend, only real people can offer real love, real guidance, and real truth about the value of every preborn baby.
