Dallas’ Largest Abortion Facility Closing After 50 Years

Southwestern Women’s Center will permanently close after March 2, 2023, according to a statement on its website. Southwestern Women’s Center stood as the largest abortion facility in Dallas for 50 years.

Since the reversal of Roe v. Wade last June, the facility ceased committing elective abortions and operated as an “abortion travel agency,” sending pregnant women out of state.

Over its tenure, Southwestern Women’s Center killed thousands of children whose lives can never be replaced.

Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center was owned by long-time late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd, who is an ordained Baptist minister and bragged, “Am I killing? Yes, I am.”

Local Pro-Life activists documented multiple instances of ambulances responding to calls at the abortion facility.

An inspection of Southwestern in November 2015 resulted in 22-pages of violations, primarily sanitation and infection control problems, including failure to properly sanitize surgical instruments or keep the facility clean.

Much better health care providers in Dallas will continue serving women in the community.

In stark contrast to the abortion industry, the Healthy Texas Women program and Family Planning Program offer medical and social resources to low-income women and are not affiliated with abortion. Over 100 Healthy Texas Women clinics exist within 15 miles of the former abortion mill.

Additionally, pregnancy resource centers in the area provide free help to new moms and dads.

It is important to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Pro-Life community in Dallas who tirelessly ministered outside Southwestern Women’s Center. Their prayers, peaceful witness, and outreach to women in need have made a real impact on the community. We must continue to support and empower those who are fighting against the evil of abortion, both locally and across the country.

This Pro-Life victory demonstrates the powerful combination of Pro-Life efforts in legislation, local ministry, and most importantly, prayer.
