Biden to Promote Abortion for Disabled Babies in State of the Union Address

Jill Biden will bring a Texas woman to the president’s State of the Union Address Thursday evening after she aborted her 20-week baby who had a disability. Kate Cox’s case gained national attention when she sued the state of Texas in an effort to abort her child who was diagnosed with Trisomy 18.

Joe Biden is bringing her story front and center in his final State of the Union Address before the November election. Biden is the most pro-abortion president of all time and has pledged to make this issue paramount in his campaign.

Biden lauded Kate Cox for suing Texas in December, aiming to legalize abortion again for any reason. When her pro-abortion attorneys lost the case, Cox traveled to another state to abort her daughter because the child had Trisomy 18. Her pro-abortion doctor told her that the risks of pregnancy outweighed the benefits of having a child with a disability.

Democrats and the media parroted the claim that Cox’s pregnancy put her life and future fertility at risk, but Texas law allows doctors to intervene in such serious circumstances, such as through C-section or induction. Cox’s attorneys did not argue in court that her condition would irrevocably harm her, and other doctors filed briefs for the court asserting that there were other available medical options to care for the mother and baby. The anti-Life lawyers claimed instead that her pregnancy was not worth continuing because her child may not live long after birth.

Biden’s agenda at the State of the Union echoes this discrimination, suggesting that a person’s value comes from one’s abilities or health. Abortion is a violent, not compassionate, response when health professionals should instead treat the young patient to the greatest extent possible.

When Baby Cox was aborted, she could feel pain, had a heartbeat and brainwaves, and was a unique and unrepeatable gift since the beginning of her life.

Biden’s State of the Union message will tell families that abortion is the Left’s one approved “choice,” rather than compassionate resources that honor the child’s life.

Unlike Biden, organizations such as Abel Speaks and Support Organization for Trisomy (SOFT) have made strides in educating the public and equipping families to continue their pregnancies when their babies are diagnosed with life-limiting disabilities such as Trisomy 18. SOFT emphasizes that advancements in medical care have significantly improved the outcomes for children born with this condition, challenging the narrative that these lives are incompatible with a meaningful existence. Abel Speaks brings families into a supportive and loving network of other parents who have lost children shortly after birth. The organization also provides advice and resources to families facing these difficult circumstances. Abel Speaks helps parents cherish their baby’s life, no matter how long or short it may be.

As we reflect on the implications of the Kate Cox case, it is important to reaffirm our commitment to building a culture that respects Life, embraces families in their time of need, and recognizes the potential for joy and love in every child’s life, regardless of his or her medical condition. It is disappointing that the Biden administration would choose to promote death rather than Life at this momentous event to address the nation.
