Speaking at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in New York, Joe Biden attacked a proposed national law protecting Life beginning at 15-weeks. Biden further attacked laws protecting babies conceived in rape and incest.
“Think about what these guys are talking about, no exceptions — rape, incest — no exceptions, regardless of age,” Biden said, adding, “I happen to be a practicing Roman Catholic. My church doesn’t even make that argument now.”
Leaving aside the fact that the proposed national Pro-Life law protecting babies after 15-weeks does make exceptions for rape and incest, Biden’s claim that the Catholic church would support these exceptions is absurdly false on its face.

Biden’s statements have had many Catholics scratching their heads, some wondering… Is Biden talking about some other Catholic church?
Though claiming to be a “practicing Roman Catholic,” those familiar with the Catholic faith know that the church’s teaching on abortion, even in cases of rape and incest are very clear. Biden’s assertion that his “church doesn’t even make that argument now” implies that the Catholic position on abortion can and has changed, which is equally ridiculous.
The official Catechism of the Catholic Church states, “Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law” (CCC 2271, emphasis added).
The Catholic church further teaches that, “the inalienable right to life of every innocent human individual is a constitutive element of a civil society and its legislation” (CCC 2273, emphasis added).
The Catholic and Pro-Life position, is that every human Life has incredible, unique value, regardless of the manner in which he or she was conceived. Though rape and incest are horrific and deeply evil violations of human dignity, the children conceived as a result should not be held responsible and killed in punishment for crimes they did not commit.
Though Biden insists he’s “a good Catholic,” many of his policy positions, most especially on abortion, stand in direct contradiction of Catholic moral teaching. In fact, Biden’s actions while in the Oval Office have earned him the title of the most radically pro-abortion president in U.S. history.
Pro-Lifers realize the incredible anguish and pain involved in rape and incest cases. That is why the Pro-Life position is to not to double a woman’s trauma by killing her preborn child. Instead, Pro-Lifers seek to stand with victimized women to defend them and their children. Churches and pregnancy resource centers across the country offer real support, aid, and care to women and families facing difficult pregnancies to give them hope for a bright future.
While the abortion industry, and anti-Life politicians like Biden, seek to trap women and families into abortion, the Pro-Life movement offers true hope and the chance to choose Life.
