Abilene City Council will take the final vote on this HUGE Pro-Life ordinance on Thursday, April 28!
Your attendance at the city council meeting is vital to demonstrate that local citizens stand for Life and want the council to protect preborn babies by passing this ordinance.
The Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinance is a local measure that would:
- Declare abortion to be murder;
- Prohibit Planned Parenthood from committing abortions in your community; and
- Save preborn children from the atrocity of abortion.
This ordinance, which is already in effect in over 40 other Texas cities, goes beyond the Texas Heartbeat Act by protecting preborn children that do not yet have detectable heartbeats!
What: Abilene City Council Meeting
When: Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 8:30 a.m.
Where: Abilene Public Library, South Branch, Mall of Abilene, 4310 Buffalo Gap Rd. Abilene, Texas.
Don’t worry, helping Abilene pass this ordinance is easier than you think!
1. Come to city hall
2. Bring a sign or wear a Pro-Life shirt to show your support
3. (Optional) Sign up to speak in front of the council for 1-3 minutes
If you cannot attend Thursday, please email or call your city council member to politely urge them to vote yes on this ordinance. Forward this message to your friends and neighbors, too!
If this measure fails on Thursday, the city of Abilene will have to vote on the ordinance in a city-wide election in November. While this is a useful back-up option available thanks to the hard work of Abilene citizens, we must urge the city council to pass the ordinance NOW and avoid dangerous delays!
