A four-month-old baby miraculously survived after being flung into a tree by a tornado in Tennessee.
The twister struck Sydney Moore’s trailer home where she and her fiancé tried to protect their two young boys.
Moore’s four-month-old rested in a bassinet near his father in the front room when the tornado touched down on the trailer.
Moore’s fiancé held on to the bassinet and the two were sucked up into the tornado together.
“The roof came down first, the tip of the tornado came down and picked up the bassinet with my baby Lord in it, and he was the first thing to go up.”
“He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles, he said, and then they got thrown,” Moore said.
Moore’s fiancé was separated from the infant during the tornado.
The father’s arm and shoulder were broken while attempting to save his son.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old mother was in the back bedroom with her other son when she heard the tornado approaching. She instinctively threw herself over her one-year-old son to shield him. Immediately afterward, the walls collapsed on the young mother and her child.
“Literally, when I jumped on him, the walls collapsed. I was being really crushed, like, I couldn’t breathe,” Moore recalled to WSMV 4.
The EF-3 tornado, responsible for six fatalities and over two dozen injuries in Montgomery County, wreaked havoc on Clarksville in December.

“Something in me just told me to run and jump on top of my son,” Moore told Nashville’s WSMV News. “The moment I jumped on him, the walls collapsed.”
After the storm, Moore dug herself and her one-year-old out of the wreckage.
The parents frantically searched for their newborn.
“I thought he was dead,” Moore admitted. “I was pretty sure he was dead, and we weren’t going to find him.”
The couple found their infant lying safely in the branches of a tree, with a gash on his face but no serious injuries.
“It looked like a little tree cradle. He was just laying there… He’s here and that’s by the grace of God,” Moore recalled.
Moore’s fearful experience grew her love and gratitude for her fiancé and children.
“Everything could be taken like that… I will die for my children. That’s not even a question. And my boyfriend would do the same thing.”
Although Moore’s heroism saved her boys’ lives, the mother claims her children are the ones who saved her: “Those kids are what saved me. They saved me from everything, and I don’t know what I would have done without them.
