PlannedParenthood.org: Facts or Fallacies

“Access to abortion is legal, constitutionally protected, and consistently supported by a majority of Americans.” This statement, made by the largest chain of abortion mills in the United States, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, brings to light several disconcerting issues. First, this statement was made on the internet on plannedparenthood.org where anyone could assume it was true. Second, abortion is not “constitutionally protected.” Within the first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence, individual citizens are guaranteed three rights: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Because abortion is the murder of innocent human Life, the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution cannot protect it or facilities that encourage or commit abortions. Finally, abortion is not supported or advocated by the majority of American citizens. A Gallup survey in May 2009 showed that 51 percent of Americans considered themselves “Pro-Life” opposed to the 41 percent considering themselves “pro-choice.” Gallup's May 2010 poll statistics also revealed a majority alignment with the Pro-Life movement 47 to 45 percent.

Planned Parenthood will tell you “the risk of death from childbirth is 11 times greater than the risk of death from an abortion procedure during the first 20 weeks of pregnancy.” Yet, according to the Elliot Institute, women are four times more likely to die post-abortion rather than post-childbirth. Also, recent studies by the South Glamorgan Health Authority in the United Kingdom have concluded that the rate of suicide attempts before an abortion is significantly lower than that of suicidal attempts following an abortion: 8.1 percent of women attempted suicide after an abortion versus 1.9 percent of women who attempted suicide after giving birth. Legal abortion is identified as the fifth leading cause of maternal death in the United States.

Plannedparenthood.org notoriously uses ambiguous terms and generalizations. As the technology age increases in popularity and publicity, it is imperative that we utilize the internet to expose the lies of anti-Life advocates and advance the Culture of Life. Texasrighttolife.org is an excellent resource for sharing the Pro-Life message with friends, family, acquaintances, and strangers. Bottom line: Planned Parenthood deceives mothers, fathers, teens, families, and the public in order to further its ends, create new and more effective abortion methods, and thus increase profits. (See upcoming movie “Blood Money”). So, how can one trust an organization that presents false information? Should the entire Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its motives be questioned? Let us allow the facts to decide.
