State lawmakers made some good progress to help moms and babies, but they didn’t do anything to stop the biggest threat—abortion pills.
Governor Abbott has a chance to fix that.
Abbott can bring state officials back to the Capitol in Austin for a short 30-day session—but they can only work on the issues he puts on the agenda. If he doesn’t call them back, an estimated 38,000 more preborn babies could die from the continued flood of illegal abortion pills into Texas.

Dear Governor Abbott,
I’m writing to urge you to call a Special Session to address the growing danger of abortion pills in Texas. Over 19,000 of these pills are mailed into our state each year—often from unregulated websites—putting women at serious risk and ending the lives of innocent preborn children.
Senate Bill 2880, the Woman and Child Protection Act, would stop traffickers and distributors of these deadly drugs while protecting women from prosecution. The bill allows families to seek justice if a woman is harmed or killed by these lethal drugs.
Please take swift action and add SB 2880 to the call for a Special Session. Texas must continue to lead in protecting Life.
