Why would a concerned party tell a pregnant teen who does not want an abortion to go to Planned Parenthood? For adoption counseling and prenatal care, apparently. Never mind adoption and prenatal care are the two pregnancy options with which the abortion experts at Planned Parenthood are least acquainted. And never mind that, while one frightened 16-year-old seeking Planned Parenthood’s rare prenatal care option receives a prescription for prenatal vitamins in one exam room, another 16-year-old could be in the next room having her developing child suctioned out of her uterus in pieces.
But really, is sending a teen to the nation’s largest abortion chain for prenatal care a thoughtful and caring recommendation? According to Abby, Planned Parenthood is the place to go for “the best prenatal care possible, so your child will be born healthy.” The same abortion chain that works to get teens addicted to sex, sell them low-quality birth control, and encourage them to engage in violent and demeaning sex acts is expected to provide compassionate care for a young mother and her preborn child. We are not sure this equation was thoughtfully considered at all.
Then again, Abby is a longtime, outspoken supporter of Planned Parenthood who has gone so far as to characterize Pro-Life opposition to Planned Parenthood as “hysteria.” One wonders, too, if she is a paid advertiser given the language of her past Planned Parenthood fawning. Consider the following excerpt from one of her epistolary responses:
Among the many low-cost, high-quality health-care services Planned Parenthood provides: screening for sexually transmitted diseases for both men and women; contraceptive counseling and services; sterilization consultation and procedures for men and women; instruction in testicular self-examination; prenatal care, which covers pregnancy and childbirth; and post-partum care, child-rearing and nutrition.
Well, Planned Parenthood does sound wonderful! But wait… are they really that focused on everything but abortion? NO.
Consider the numbers. For every one mother receiving prenatal care at Planned Parenthood there are thirteen undergoing abortions. And for every one mother who received an adoption referral from Planned Parenthood, one hundred forty-nine mothers underwent abortions at Planned Parenthood. What do you think – is Planned Parenthood’s vested interest in healthy babies, or dead ones?
