Advocates of abortion-on-demand spout divisive and often unbecoming rhetoric. But when ardent abortion supporters teeter so close to the line of truth, you wonder if the words they speak will resonate in their hearts and minds.
Recently, two abortion supporters did just that, only to have the door of political ideology slammed in the face of truth.
“I know that throughout my own pregnancies, I never wavered for a moment in the belief that I was carrying a human life inside of me. I believe that’s what a fetus is: a human life,” wrote Salon staff writer, Mary Elizabeth Williams, last week.
Williams’ article, “So what if abortion ends a human life?”, confirmed everything the Pro-Life movement has said for decades: that the entity being carried in the womb is a Life. So one would assume that since Ms. Williams recognizes Life, that she now rejects abortion, right?
Wrong.
She continued: “And that [belief]doesn’t make me one iota less solidly pro-choice.”
The anti-Life left wants you to think they are protecting women, building up women, and making them and this nation stronger through abortion, but the narrative the left uses only outlines one thing: selfishness.
Cue MSNBC host Touré Neblett. On his Friday show, The Cycle, Touré made a public declaration: “I thank God and country that when I fell into a bad situation, abortion was there to save me…”
The host detailed how he and a former girlfriend became pregnant. Their relationship was on the rocks, so they decided that instead of shouldering the burden of being connected to each other for the rest of their lives through parenthood, that they would simply abort their child.
Touré continued his life unscathed. Years later when he married and he and his wife decided to have children of their own, he considered he and his wife’s child worth keeping.
He said, “It was a thrill to watch that boy grow inside [my wife], but I must admit during that second trimester as we watched him move around on 3D sonograms, I saw how human they are at that stage. My lifelong belief in abortion rights was jostled. It was life colliding with belief system. I had to rethink my position.”
You might think that Touré was having a change of heart right there on-screen as he was telling how his son really was a human being before he was born, but you’d be wrong.
He finished, “But in the end I remained committed to being pro-choice.”
Even when faced with the Life of a child on a screen before him, he continues to allow other human beings to be handed death sentences. Because why should his life be inconvenienced?
In her Salon article, Williams’ own selfish nature shines through her words:
“Here’s the complicated reality in which we live: All life is not equal…[A] fetus can be a human life without having the same rights as the woman in whose body it resides. She’s the boss. Her life and what is right for her circumstances and her health should automatically trump the rights of the non-autonomous entity inside of her. Always.” (Emphasis mine.)
On his show, Touré echoed Williams: “I cannot imagine arguing against a woman’s right to control her body and thus her life.”
Because of science, abortion proponents know they can no longer lie to women about the humanity of their unborn children.
So, the twisted justifications for abortion continue to evolve. Now, it’s acceptable to say that abortion is okay, because you are more important than your child. We are told that our right to happiness and equality is the only thing that matters, no matter who is hurt in the process.
Abortion-enthusiasts ascertain because you are a walking, breathing, and speaking being that your right to happiness trumps the life inside you – even when you are the only one she depends on. Your life means more than hers; you are more worthy. You are better than she is.
Touré summed up his thoughts with this: “Family building is at the heart of nation building.” But really, how are we able to build families, and thus nations, when our selfishness is so out of control that we must condemn an innocent Life so that our comforts are not compromised?
We cannot build families when their smallest members are rejected. We cannot build nations when the Life of one is sacrificed for the convenience of another.
