On Saturday, Pro-Life advocates gathered in Dallas for the 3rd Annual North Texas Celebration of Life. The event is a recognition of the extensive network of committed Pro-Life citizens in North Texas who have supported Texas Right to Life’s growth beyond our Houston, Texas, headquarters.
The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex has the first regional office of Texas Right to Life, headed by Rebekah Lentz, the North Texas Regional Director. The enthusiastic support of the North Texas residents over the past year has helped Texas Right to Life strengthen ties in the community and work more closely with Pro-Life activists in the region. The North Texas Celebration of Life is one of several successful events in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The evening had a strong political focus with the Midterm Elections close at hand. The abortion lobby has targeted several strong Pro-Life candidates in North Texas and is attempting to infiltrate Texas. Planned Parenthood and even Barack Obama have been involved in aggressively campaigning against Pro-Life candidates in North Texas, and Pro-Life Texans have taken a strong stand against these attacks of Texan values.
Pro-Life Texans have rallied around candidates who are thwarting the attempted “blue wave” of Democrat candidates funded by political operatives outside Texas. Several Texas Right to Life PAC-endorsed candidates attended the North Texas Celebration of Life and had the opportunity to visit with voters.
In addition to the many candidates and elected officials in attendance, the evening also showcased the Texas Right to Life Dr. Joseph Graham Fellowship for College Pro-Life Leaders. Many Fellows from area schools representing the program visited with supporters. The Fellowship offers scholarships to motivated Pro-Life students who commit to bringing a Culture of Life to their campuses through their schools’ Pro-Life club.
For this year’s North Texas Celebration of Life, Pam Tebow was the much-anticipated keynote speaker. An acclaimed national speaker and Pro-Life advocate, Mrs. Tebow gained a wide audience when her youngest son, Tim Tebow, then quarterback for the Florida Gators, became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy. As her son’s fame grew, the incredible story of how his mother refused to abort him despite pressure from doctors reached more people around the world. Pam Tebow inspired and encouraged Texas Right to Life supporters to defend and celebrate Life.
Texas Right to Life thanks the many enthusiastic supporters who made our 3rd Annual Celebration of Life a great success.
